A Sister's Struggle

So I know that my two girls have different personalities, even though they get along so well and are the best of friends. This was made very clear to me yesterday at Skyler's dance class. So I am sitting along the side with all of the other moms and Kendyll is doing her best to participate with the class from the viewing area. The class started doing a balance game where bean bags are put on their heads, this I realize will not fly with my Sky. I have no idea why, but she does not like things put on top of her head. She is fine to wear hats, but other things like bean bags are not acceptable head attire . . . ever. So while they other girls played the game Skyler enjoyed from the sidelines, sigh. The other mother's couldn't help but notice that Skyler is most definitely my "shy" child, whereas, Kendyll is my "entertainer" if you will. As if on cue Kendyll became frustrated with her bench sitting sister. She stood at the edge of the "okay to play zone" (yes this is a zone of my own creation for Kendyll) and yelled at the top of her little lungs, "Dy Der!!!" and then her little finger and arm fly out pointing to where the other girls were participating in the activity. This was funny enough for all the moms, however Kendyll was not satisfied when Skyler did not respond to her demands. Next thing I know Kendyll is marching (marching as only a 22 month old can) over my imaginary line right at unsuspecting Skyler. Because I am laughing at the show my little darlings are putting on, I did not reach Kendyll before she had gotten across the dance floor. When Skyler sees Kendyll she thinks Kendyll has come to give her a hug and immediately embraces her long lost little sister. Kendyll however, has a different plan . . . She is mustering up all of her bossiness and trying to pull Skyler out to where the rest of the girls are. I grabbed Kendyll in the middle of her struggle and then wrestled with her until the class moved on to a different activity - one in which Skyler participated in much to her little sister's approval of course! Is this visions of their teenage years???
